Something to look forward to

Everyone who knows me, knows I’m a big planner. I highly doubt that will ever change. However, I’m happy to say that lately (in the past week, in fact), I’ve had three fun and completely spontaneous outings. And when I say spontaneous, I mean truly spur of the moment. Not spontaneously planned, or previously booked :). Because I have occasionally been known to try to “plan” my spontaneity.

These were awesome moments and I’m glad that I had not jammed my schedule so full that I wasn’t open or available for these serendipitous encounters.

One of the things I love about planning though, is that I always have something to look forward to. It can be something big, or something small

Today I’m planning to finish up working by 4:30 pm and have some time to myself. A cup of tea, some reading and a long hot shower are on my agenda. Yes, I’ve blocked out that time in my calendar – something to look forward to.

Tomorrow I have a workout planned in the early evening, it’s already scheduled and it’s always fun – something to look forward to.

This weekend I’m attending an workshop in NYC with folks from around the world and high level, sure to be inspiring, speakers – something to look forward to.

In three months, I have a BIG adventure coming up. The three month mark seems to be a signal that I’d better start preparing. The anticipation has begun to build. I’m sure this adventure will elicit many a blog post, so I won’t go into detail yet, but the photo above is the book I just started reading, and it will give you a clue.

Something to look forward to.

How about you? What are you looking forward to?
