Elevating your mindset

Hope you’re doing alright.

Sometimes alright is the best we can do, especially during these challenging and uncertain times.

One of the topics I frequently write, speak and teach about is how to elevate your mindset.

Easier said than done these days, but it is a constant practice, and VITAL right now.

Our mindset sets the tone and direction of our lives, and it is the foundation upon which everything else is built.  Our subconscious mind is responsible for more of what is happening in every aspect of our lives right now than anything else. That elusive subconscious is mighty powerful!  When our thoughts are not aligned with what we truly desire, when we tell yourself the same old stories which don’t support us, we wind up confused, frustrated, discouraged, and wondering if anything will ever change.

We may even feel bouts of fear, doubt, negativity, and a lack of self trust and confidence.  This affects our ability to be able choose our attitude in challenging situations, and to design the life we truly want.  After all, we get what we expect.

Elevating our mindset allows us to respond vs. react.

Our coping skills improve, not to mention our overall self love, and the ability achieve whatever successes our heart desires.

What might elevating your mindset look like?

  • Fostering an attitude (and better yet a written list) of gratitude every day
  • Creating a support system and tools to turn to when things suck
  • Developing a shorter recovery time to move from that sucky place (OK, this COULD involve a brief tantrum and escaping to your couch for an afternoon in your PJs watching Love Boat reruns while feasting on Cheetos and Pinot Grigio – but only ONE afternoon!)
  • Reframing when glitches occur, by filling in the blank: “What’s good about this is________.”
  • Knowing that YOU ARE ENOUGH, and telling yourself that daily (hourly if necessary), especially on the days you don’t feel it
  • Asking for help, and being willing to accept it
  • Maintaining unwavering faith that you can be, do, or have anything in this life that you wish
  • And when that faith wavers, go to top of this list and begin again

Some of my favorites tools to elevate my mindset, interrupt old patterns and create new pathways are meditation, prayer, gratitude, being in nature, setting intentions, affirmations, volunteering, essential oils, journaling, and chatting with my girlfriends

My focus during the last several months has been to use these tools even more than ever.

What are your favorite go to tools or practices to elevate your mindset?

Choose one and devote some time to that today.

You deserve it and you will help to elevate us all. Thank you in advance.
