I always close out the year with some reflection time. I like to look back on what’s transpired over the past twelve months, and to acknowledge the things that I did that were different, unexpected, or took my out of my comfort zone. I also think it’s important to note the little mundane things too.
This year has been a lot of personal transformation. The real list is the internal growth. The relationships I’ve deepened, the patience I’ve tried to develop, the mindset I’ve worked on cultivating.
2018 was the year I turned 52. To me this was monumental. My dad died two weeks after turning 52, so it’s always been hanging there….looming in the distance. This year, however, it was no longer distant, it was right there in front of my face. Digging deeper into what that meant to me and how that’s shaped me was probably the most profound part of my year. And I am still here.
There were plenty other less weighty moments…
Here are just a few of some of the other moments that happened in 2018, some big, some small, mostly random and in no particular order.
Upleveled my business coaching and mastermind support group and joined a group of fabulous entrepreneurial women who I have mad respect for (#catsisters)
Went to hear Esther Hicks & Abraham (Live!)
Tried Cryotherapy
Enjoyed a surprise performance by Hugh Jackman
Saw the musical Come From Away (and sobbed through the entire show as I relived those moments…poor guy next to me must have been wondering what the heck?!?!)
Took a leap of courage
Celebrated 28 years of teaching Jazzercise
Kept a basil plant alive for several months (have never had the greenest thumb)
Went to a wine blending class and blended my own wine ( I named it Namaste KHR)
Took a few Ariel Yoga classes
Finally got a new laptop!
Had several lunches, some impromptu, with one of my dearest friends for real chat
Stood in awe under Arches National Park in Moab
Celebrated at a dear friend’s wedding
And so much more…
How about you?
What did 2018 hold for you?
I look forward to seeing what 2019 has in store for me, and I wish you peace and joy in the New Year.
Blessings
xoxo
