Last week I had the pleasure of supporting The Great Pumpkin Challenge, a wonderful fundraising effort started by my BFF’s daughter, Mackenzie Page. This year her efforts, which she began in eighth grade, really snowballed and caught the attention of some big companies.
It was especially cool to spend time with John Jacobs, Founder of Life is Good. John was finishing the last leg of his Grow the Good tour, to highlight people doing good things.
We discussed the parable of the two wolves and the importance of spending time with people who lift you up.
If you don’t know the parable I’m referring to…….
“An old grandfather told his grandson: “My son, there is a battle between two wolves inside us all. One is evil. It is anger, jealousy, greed, and resentment. The other is good. It is joy, love, hope, humility, kindness, empathy, and bravery.”
The boy thought about it, and asked, “Grandfather, which wolf wins?”
The old man quietly replied, “The one you feed.”
It’s all very simple – feed the good.
