Finding the fun

Last weekend I had the chance to hang out with my nephews and celebrate this little guy’s Birthday.  Too cute!

He’s showing me how he climbs the tree in his yard.  He jumps into it fearlessly, and with abandon.

When was the last time you engaged in something with that kind of fervor?

I have friends who lament about how they used to love to dance, or play the guitar, or _____(fill in the blank).  Yet life can easily get in the way, or more accurately, we LET life get in the way.

And we lose those things that gave us the kind of joy and excitement you get when you’re turning five years old and are climbing the tree in your front yard.

I challenge you to rekindle something that you love, something that you can get lost in, and to do it for just 15 minutes per day each day for thirty days.  At the end of thirty days you’ll have spent 7.5 hours (that’s almost the amount of a ‘typical’ or theoretical work day).

Can you imagine a full day of dancing, painting, reading, or noodling on the guitar?

Commit to those fifteen minutes per day, and you’ll have done it!
