I first met Tao Porchon-Lynch in 2013. I wrote about my experience here:
Now, whenever there is a rare opportunity to take a yoga class with her, I jump on it.
I know I’ll be inspired.
She’s 100 years young now, and she is certainly still living her mantra:“There is nothing you cannot do.”
It was perfect timing to hear that message (well, really, isn’t it ALWAYS a good time for that message?).
I’ve been focusing and reflecting on self love this month, both in my Radiant Life FB Group (click here to come on over and join us),and also in my life personally.
Self care can be a form of self love, but it goes much deeper than that. A bath or a massage is nice, but the dialogue in our minds and how we speak to ourselves is an important place to begin.
If we’re soaking in that tub and going over what we failed to accomplish, hating on our bodies, or wondering why we haven’t been able to accomplish a particular goal, then all the Epsom salts or bubbles in the world aren’t going to make that bath a more self loving experience.
Start with language.
How do you talk to yourself?
What conversation are you constantly having with yourself?
]What tape is on rewind in your mind?
Start there.
Speak to yourself kindly, because there is nothing you cannot do.
Trust me, I know, because Tao told me.
