“There’s always a reason to complain, and there’s always a reason to dance.”
Kid President

He had me at dance.  Dance is a true passion of mine, so I knew immediately that I’d like Kid President (aka Robby Novak).

I had the pleasure of hearing Kid President, along with his brother-in-law and man behind the camera, Brad Montague, this summer at the World Domination Summit in Portland, OR.

The self-proclaimed “joyful rebellion” that they are creating can’t help but leave you smiling.

His quote above came to mind the other day when I was listening to a litany of complaints.
Wow, i thought.  I wonder why some people always seem to find things to complain about.  Especially when it takes just as much energy to find reasons to be grateful, or as Kid President says – reasons to dance. (btw photo is from his Facebook page – check it out)

Both activities set new actions into motion.  Complaints feed into more complaints and it energy and moods begin to snowball.  While gratitude (or dancing – an ideal metaphor for gratitude in my book) cultivates, well, a huge gratitude dance party.

So what will you choose today.  Complaints or dancing?

What are you waiting for? Crank up the tunes!

PS  Speaking of dancing….join me on Monday, September 28th at 5:30 pm at BreakThru Fitness in Stamford for Interval DanceMixx and be ready to get your groove on.
