How would you rate yourself when you wake up on a typical morning on a scale of 1-10…..
If you’re feeling like a 1: You’re tired, haven’t had a solid night of quality sleep, low energy, chronic pain, low motivation, maybe on some type medication, feel like hitting the snooze button, experiencing poor digestion or constipation, not too excited about the potentially draining and stressful day ahead.
And if you’re feeling like a 10: You’re well rested, had 7 or 8 hours of restful sleep, full of energy, free of pain, free of medication, excited about the day, digestive and elimination working smoothly, can’t wait to get out of bed, generally happy.
I was hovering around about a 4 for a couple of years.
Definitely depleted. Not acceptable.
A lot has changed since then…a new business, releasing toxic relationships, loads of personal development and more intentional daily choices to support myself.
I’d say most days I’m a nine now. I’m a tough grader, I can always find room for improvement, so I’m not sure I’d ever give myself a ten, but damn sure close…maybe a 9.5. (Although this pic from the weekend looks more like a 7 I’d say, but that’s because it was snowing in April!).
Now I thrive on helping others remember what it feels like to feel good in their bodies and in their lives.
So what do I take from this and why am I sharing it:
- Be grateful for the road you’ve traveled, it’s full of invaluable lessons.
- Don’t let sub par become your new normal.
- LISTEN to your body and know where you are right now and know that you don’t have to stay there.
- Take one small step, make one decision, choose one move that will get you closer to a ten!
Make it a great day!
