I just returned from spending two days at the Mama Gena and the School of the Womanly Arts event in NYC.
All I can say is, WOW.
I really did not know what to expect, but went with an open mind.
It’s impossible to share much about the experience. First because they expressly asked that everything be kept confidential. In fact, no phones, photos or videos allowed (I snapped this pic BEFORE that rule was mentioned, so hopefully it’s ok to share :)).
Second, it’s just not possible to convey the intensity and the powerful connection that 2500 women from 50 states and 28 countries experienced in that room. We represented all different races, religions, ages, backgrounds, and sexual orientations.
The common thread I believe was connection.
I think we are all seeking connection, now more than ever.
I know that my friend Colette (that’s us at the end of the two days, drained, but happy!) and I have formed a much closer bond than we had before we arrived.
As I reflected about this experience yesterday, I realized that we can find connection everywhere if we search for it. We don’t need to gather in a room of 2500 to find it (although that was certainly fierce!)
I just got home from sharing essential oils with my mom’s Canasta group. These four women meet regularly and there is a true sense of connection that extends beyond the game.
Or perhaps it’s when you stop for your morning coffee and that you could extend kindness to the person behind the counter and create a connection.
The possibilities are limitless.
Where can you find connection?
