It makes me kind of sad…

After my foray back to blogging two weeks ago, I decided to skip the Holiday week last week. I think it was the first week this year that I was home every evening.  I took full advantage of that the milestone. Sometimes you just need to spend some time chilling on the couch binge watching The Bachelorette. Although I don’t recommend too much of that kind of zoning out, it was much needed to recover after a very full month, and to prepare myself for a whirlwind week ahead.

I’m also twelve days into my 30 Days of Radiant Self Care Challenge. I’ve been posting daily videos on my Facebook page.

I’m doing it as much for myself to stay focused on caring for myself, as I am for sharing and educating.  Feel free to join me, or just watch along.  Would love to hear your feedback.

Almost all of the tips so far can be done in just a few minutes, yet many of us do not prioritize self care.  I speak often, mainly to women, about caring for their health, natural solutions and loving themselves.

I regularly ask them on a scale of 1-10, how they feel right now in their bodies and in their lives.

1 being tired, low energy, anxiety, pain, overall blah and eh about life
10 being full of energy, waking up rested, joyful, free of pain,  free of medication and excited about life.

I’m not surprised, but kind of sad that it is rare to hear anything above a 6.  In fact in one group of about fifteen women the highest score was a 4.

Really, a 4?

What are we doing with this one precious life, this one miraculous body?

I’m not surprised, because I’ve been there as well.  A few years ago I was probably about a 2.  Exhausted, stressed, in chronic pain and not excited to get out of bed. The tips I’m sharing are some of the foundation I’ve created to push that 2 up.  Most days I’m at least a 7, sometimes as high as a 9 (I’m a tough grader and don’t really ever give myself a 10 – I know, there’s therapy for that!).

Nurturing ourselves is simple, but not easy. There are many basic habits we can weave into our days.  It’s not about having more time, it’s a matter of making it a priority.

You will NEVER get this day, TODAY, again.

What will you do with it?
