Recently I shared that this year I’m seeking out both a personal development and professional development experience or event to attend each month this year.
This month I kicked it off with a wonderful workshop with the amazing Tao Porchon-Lynch at LifePath Yoga, one of my favorite places to practice yoga.
I had the honor of taking Tao’s class a few years ago, and sharing some wine with her (another one of her passions). I wrote about it in my blog which also appeared on MindBodyGreen. You can check it out there.
Flash forward a few years, she’s now 98 years young (still looks as beautiful) and is just as, if not more, inspiring.
Her mantra “There is nothing you can’t do” continues to ring in my ears and fuel my spirit. Her light certainly is shining bright. She was heading out a few days after our class to teach in Dubai (or maybe it was Abu Dhabi), then on to Istanbul, and finally Houston where she would be competing in a National Ballroom Dance competition.
Her stamina, positive attitude, unwavering faith and confidence is a beacon that reminds me how I want to approach my relationships, work and life. She begins EVERY day saying that THIS day is going to be the BEST day of my life. Not a bad way to wake up and start the day.
I highly recommend taking a class with her if you can and I’m looking forward to diving into her new autobiography Dancing Light: The Spiritual Side of Being Through the Eyes of a Modern Yoga Master.
If that wasn’t enough to excite me, I took on a second adventure last week that, let’s just say, took me to new heights. You can hear about it here.
I think Tao would agree….make it a great day,
